Candid Wholesale

From survival to seed.

For independent businesses, doing wholesale meant navigating a fragmented web of software, paperwork, and personal connections. What was already difficult for local mom and pops became nearly impossible in a global pandemic.

With a mix of deep technical expertise and real-world wholesaling, Candid’s founders and platform uniquely met the moment to offer a sustainable way ahead.

As the founding Creative, I led efforts in branding, product design, pitch design, resulting in a $2 million seed round.

The show must go on

When the pandemic stopped all in-person events, we pivoted towards a relationship-driven, platform-agnostic virtual tradeshow experience and program: Open on Candid.

Local & global partnerships

In partnership with leading economic agencies PortlandMade, Prosper Portland, and Mercatus, Candid launched its first co-branded program, “Portland Supply,” The inherent value and network effects of the experience.

“The Candid crew is dedicated to developing a platform that evens the playing field.”

Pitch deck

With clear signals of a product-market fit, I partnered closely with the co-founders to create an interim-branded deck that secured a $2 million seed round led by TenOneTen, Amplify, SaaS Ventures, and Front Row Partners.

Rebrand

I led a rebrand that included a new brand core, brand style, content, and design tools.

The World of Wholesale

A depiction of wholesale life in a modular brand illustration used in both product and marketing celebrated the brand story of every hard-working wholesaler.
